Roy Waller, who is played by Nicolas Cage, in the film starts developing a anxiety disorder, "a anxiety disorder is a conditon in which intense feelings of fear and dread are long -standing or disruptive," which starts to interfere with his career. Frank then seeks the help of a psychologist whos helps him with his disorder and the relationship between Roy and his daughter Angela. This movie relates to psychology because in the movie Roy displays the psychological anxiety disorder of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Obssesive Compulsive Disorder, or (OCD), is a anxiety disorder where a person becomes obsessed with certain thoughts or feels a compulsion to do certain things. Roy displays this disorder in the scenes where he constantly cleans his apartment, which is a display of him having a compulsion to clean up. Roy also shows OCD in the scenes when he repeatly stutter over his words due to his feeling of compulsion to stutter.
